ABOUT
Arbitrator Marchetto found his interest in labor relations in the 1980's with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers as vice-president of his local union representing workers in the semi-conductor industry in Allentown, PA. From there he advanced his education and experience by obtaining his undergraduate degree in Business Management from DeSales University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and then his law degree from Temple University in 2001.'
After working at a small law firm for a few years, he was appointed as Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Allentown, Pennsylvania, which is the third largest city in PA. In this capacity, he handled all of the public sector labor matters for the City with Fire, Police and Municipal Workers. This work included grievances, arbitrations, collective bargaining, Act 111, Act 195, civil service, workers' compensation, PA Heart & Lung, PLRB, EEOC, ADA, FMLA, and many other aspects of municipal law. He finished his public sector career with the City as its Director of Human Resources and Risk Management where, in addition to supervising the above matters, he obtained management experience in payroll systems, municipal budgets, health benefits, pensions, and risk management practices.
Upon retiring from the City, Mr. Marchetto started his labor arbitration practice in 2018. He has over 26 years of hands on practical experience in both private and public sector labor and employment law. He now practices exclusively as a neutral fact finder, labor arbitrator and mediator. He currently is on the panel of labor arbitrators with the American Arbitration Association, Pennsylvania Bureau of Mediation, as well as serving as a court appointed arbitrator for the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas.
